Srinagar, March 26 (KNO) : It is an extreme irrational that instead of citing any proof the NIA is relying on social media reports and self-made long list of more than 332 witness to prolong their detention. Geelani said. While blaming executive and judiciary for their bias approach against resistance leadership, political activist, business fraternity, student community and people in state, Syed Ali Geelani said, they are not trustworthy and dependable.

The judiciary failed to deliver justice, said Geelani, saying, scores of youth are languishing in jails since long and after serving jail term even for decades were declared innocent, when executive failed to produce any substantial proof against these. Judiciary in India under the influence of executive and ruling elite frame false cases against convicts and most of the times, these detainees are subjected to extreme physical torture and later their bail applications are rejected on flimsy grounds, said Geelani. Instead of upholding the high ethics of justice, the judiciary follow dictates of executive, said Geelani, saying it is not impartiality and added that judiciary while trampling all ethics, law and justice, prolong the period of detention and decades later set these detainees free when executive fail to produce any substantial evidences & proof.

This has proved beyond doubt that judiciary is not free from political influence, instead a tool in the hands of fanatical authorities in Delhi and they take undue advantage of judiciary against its opponents or those pursuing freedom struggle in state, Geelani said. Reacting sharply over the reports of intimidations and ill treatment meted out to those detained in Tihar, Syed Ali Geelani said that they are subjected to physical and mental torture by jail authorities. Geelani while appealing international community to take cognizance of arbitrary measures adopted by New Delhi and their “henchmen”, impressed to intervene and rescue detainees from the political vendetta.(KNO)
